Freshly made of the day, Been in services for Generations and is still great, make time earlier and more for there's most times a good line to wait on; trust me the Wait is truly worth it, definitely coming back more often.
The best empanadas I've had. If you get them while they're still warm, they are amazing. I'm not a fan of conches, but from here I don't mind them. There's so much to try, and the prices are very good. Staff is very friendly.

I drove 28 miles from my house in Brownsville to Lara’s Bakery in Harlingen to buy sweet bread for my girlfriend who is under the weather. She loves their sweet bread. I arrived 10 minutes before Lara’s Bakery opened. There was a line of people waiting outside. This is how good tasting sweet bread is sold here. Two ladies attending the customers are fast and friendly. Majority of customers were taking boxes of sweet bread plus a couple of bags..
Great Fresh Sweet Bread! Now they take Debit Cards too! Friendly and Fast Service. What holds up the line is the customers when they get to the display cases and seeing all the great sweet stuff. Some hold the line cause they are on the phone telling the other person what is available 😩
Best pan de dulce in Harlingen! Been going here for years now, it is a weekend tradition for our family to get pan from Laras and have breakfast together.
1962 in Harlingen,Texas i would stand in line to get my Mexican bread and surrounded by the smell of heavenly baked bread of all kinds. I visited just recently i again stood in line to get my share of marranitos, conchas, sugar cookies,hearts, semitas de mantecca o regular. Did i complain about waiting for 30 minutes? No, because I was surrounded by the smell of the wonderful best tasting Mexican bread bakef by the Worlds best Panaderos " bread bakers. My clothes my hair smelled delisioso of that wonderful smelling and tasting Mexican Bread from Lara's Bakery. The church bells can be heard not far from the bakery.
BEST sweetbread in town!!!! Everything is always fresh, soft, and yummy for our tummies 😀😋 This little hidden gem is always busy no matter what time or day but soooo worth the drive and wait! Cards are accepted + all forms of payment 👍 Everyone I gift this bread to absolutely 💯 loves it! ❤️
The place was packed! Everyone wanted some baked goods. The line moved at a decent speed. The store smelled good and the food is amazing! We bought all those for only $16
Excellent conchas and good orejas, even at 6pm. I am looking forward to trying their apple fritters next time. Thought they were out of conchas but they had trays of them in the kitchen. Soft and fluffy, so good!
